So, when I was in high school, I used to hear K-pop,(now also, but it actually started there) which I found very enchanting and thrilling, as a teenager. But gradually, I felt like I was drowning in the world of K-pop. I became more and more eager to know about their language, their culture, and everything that is related to them. And, I finally ended up with a decision to learn the Korean language!
By that time, I finished my high schooling and entered higher secondary. As a Korean language aspirant, I tried to learn Korean from YouTube videos, Websites, etc, just like most beginners. (It was indeed helpful, but something was missing)
I learned Korean in fact, but I knew something somewhere wasn’t right.

When I was in the final years of college, a Korean language program was hosted by my college in collaboration with a university in South Korea. I enrolled myself in that course, and there everything changed.
A professor from South Korea taught us the Korean language, cleared our doubts, explained the Korean culture, their customs, practices, and, in fact, everything. He made my Korean journey colorful. The one-year course was really life-changing.
And now, I am a self-dependent Korean language trainer and a blogger.
And now I am going to give you 5 hacks, I did to learn Korean, which is 100% sure and indisputable.
- Find the right mentor/instructor: Before you start learning from anywhere and everywhere, I recommend you find a stable platform or a mentor to teach you, as it worked for me. What I did was enrolling myself in the Korean language program. This is the most important thing.
- Prepare a Korean journal: Prepare a language journal for Korean. Wondering what is a Korean journal?
- Face-to-face classes are the best: If you’ve found a mentor/ instructor, I recommend face-to-face classes. Clear your doubts and ask questions!
- Practice a lot (Maybe 5–10 new words a day): Another Korean hack that helped me improve in Korean was this. If you’re determined, then these 3 P’s are for you. Practice, Practice, and Practice, as it is the only way to improve your vocabulary and language.
- Sing Korean songs (Pronunciation hack): This hack is the dearest to me, as singing was always my favorite hobby. And I made it useful in this way. I started singing Korean songs from dramas and K-pop and tried to understand their meaning while singing. It also helped me to improve my speaking skills too. Try it yourself!
These are the 5 hacks that I recommend to all those Korean language aspirants, just like the Me, years ago.
